How should a machining center be selected?I think the following points need to be followed：
Ⅰ.The dimensions of the main specifications of the machining center should be compatible with the contour dimensions of the workpiece. That is, small workpieces should be processed by small-sized machine tools, while large workpieces should be processed by large-sized machine tools, so as to achieve the rational use of equipment.
Ⅱ.The structure of a machining center is influenced by factors such as the specifications and dimensions of the machine tool and the weight of the workpiece being processed. The following table lists the most common important specifications and performance indicators of numerical control equipment.
Ⅲ. the working accuracy of the machining center should be compatible with the processing accuracy required by the process. Select machine tools based on the machining accuracy requirements of the parts. For instance, for rough machining processes with low precision requirements, machine tools with low precision should be chosen; for fine machining processes with high precision requirements, machine tools with high precision should be selected.
Ⅳ. the power, rigidity and range of motion of the machine tool should be adapted to the nature of the process and the most suitable cutting parameters. If the blank allowance removed in the rough machining process is large and the cutting allowance is selected to be large, the machine tool is required to have high power and good rigidity.
Ⅴ. convenient clamping and simple fixture structure are also factors that need to be considered when choosing CNC equipment. Whether to choose a CNC HMC or CNC VMC one will directly affect the structure of the selected fixture and the processing coordinate system, and is directly related to the difficulty of CNC programming and the reliability of CNC processing.
It should be noted that when choosing a CNC machining center, the functions of the CNC equipment should be fully utilized, and reasonable development should be carried out as needed to expand the functions of the CNC machine tool and meet the requirements of the product. Then, based on the selected CNC machine tool, further optimize the CNC processing plan and process route, and appropriately adjust the internal processes as needed
